Press Release: casualfood receives Hamburg Food Service Award

The highly prized Hamburg Food Service Award was bestowed upon casualfood as the best national winner last Friday. The annual award presented by the dfv media group recognises especially successful concepts. The second award, in the international category, went to Time Out Market in Portugal. The award ceremony held at Hamburg’s Grand Elysée Hotel was attended by close to 500 people.

casualfood received the award first and foremost thanks to its rapid growth, which has made it one of the players with the strongest growth in the travel catering sector. Having entered the market with a single pretzel cart at Frankfurt Airport in 2005, casualfood now has net sales of more than 50 million euros and a workforce upward of 700 employees. The company has also won multiple awards with its innovative concepts.

“We are delighted to have been given this award. We have put a great deal of work and dedication into developing our concepts. The Hamburg Food Service Award is excellent recognition of this and tells us we are absolutely on the right track,” say Stefan Weber and Michael Weigel, Managing Partners of casualfood GmbH.

And there’s more: with the successful, new Italo-American concept GOODMAN & FILIPPO having won a number of awards recently, the company has already developed another concept for an Asian-inspired brand.
