We are one of the Top Players in german travel catering!
It all began in 2005. With the first Casualfood snack cart behind the security controls at Frankfurt Airport. A groundbreaking precision landing.
Casualfood GmbH
‘The taste of travelling’ – it is in keeping with this watchword that Casualfood develops and operates innovative food concepts for the transport catering industry. Our catering and convenience store concepts are as diverse and versatile as our entire company.
From the authentic Italian coffee bar Mondo and pizza and pasta at basta! through to Goodman & Filippo, the Italian-American deli concept, and healthy snack oases such as Natural and Superfood. Other concept highlights include the successful convenience shop Quicker’s, our snack bar Hermann’s, our Brezel Lovers cart and the Beans & Barley craft beer and coffee bar, not to mention our Berlin-inspired brands east side berlin, Berlin Pub and Deli Berlin. Casualfood also operates the brands Kamps and ServiceStore DB on a franchise basis.
The successful combination of an attractive range and a clear brand profile makes Casualfood GmbH one of the top players in the transport catering industry. We operate all of our shops and restaurants fully independently from our headquarters in Frankfurt. We have our own production kitchens at each location and our logistics processes are individual and automated. We currently operate more than 60 restaurants, shops and snack carts and employ a total of 720 staff.

Conception
The location is our guideline. Giving close consideration to the specific circumstances and operator wishes, we prepare a careful analysis of the on-site requirements and target group. This forms the basis of the strategic orientation of our concept – completely tailor-made by Casualfood. From our three pillars of snack carts, fast-casual bars and restaurants and convenience shops, we then choose the perfect solution. Casualfood can!
Design und Architecture
Now it is time for our creative team to roll up their sleeves! We start by carrying out a meticulous analysis of the location requirements before our design and architecture office sets to work developing concepts that are optimally adapted to them, from image and logo all the way to what menus should look like. From interior design concept and choice of materials to lighting and sound. Sustainability is always at the forefront of planning and development. Our fast-casual bars and restaurants and convenience stores even have their own music concept that is specially curated to match the time of day. Let the music play!
Operations
Our operations team then gets to work to bring the catering and convenience concepts to life, full of innovative products. These are always closely aligned with current trends and movements and also increasingly focus on sustainable, vegetarian and vegan food experiences. Enjoy sustainable!
Digitalisation
The future is digital. We already are! Casualfood is not just a first mover in terms of its innovative catering concepts and products. We are also a step ahead when it comes to food service digitalisation, and have in-depth knowledge of the use and integration of digital solutions. For example, we are a pioneer in contactless payment and were the first company in Germany to launch the PayPass contactless payment method with Mastercard back in 2007.
Click & Collect, seat service, heat maps with details of peak times and mobile payment methods have long been part of our everyday business. We never rest on our laurels, but rather continuously develop our digital solutions and are always on the lookout for new ideas. Our deep-rooted experience provides us with comprehensive expertise that enables us to create smooth interfaces to other systems. We also have long-term experience of working with a professional ERP system. Digital wins!
PayPal
It’s easy with Paypal! All of our Casualfood restaurants and stores in German airports and train stations offer guests the option of paying with Paypal directly at the checkout. By scanning a QR code, the process takes just a few seconds. We collaborate with numerous prestigious partners to guarantee an easy-going shopping experience.
Miles & More
Casualfood is an official partner of the Miles & More frequent flyer programme at Frankfurt Airport. This means that travellers can collect coveted miles at numerous Casualfood outlets, such as the Casualfood restaurants and convenience shops in Terminal 1, Gates A and B. All participating restaurants and stores are marked with the Miles & More ‘-M-’ symbol. All guests need to do is show the Miles & More service card or the digital service card in the Miles & More app when paying and one mile per euro will be credited to their account. And, of course, Casualfood also runs regular promotions for bonus and extra miles.
