Following the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, another first-rate food-service outlet starts serving customers there today. Deli Berlin offers an innovative food concept along with a large terrace immediately on Willy-Brandt-Platz, overlooking the main entrance to the airport. Providing a genuine taste of Berlin, the trendy, urban all-day concept has adopted the Berlin bear as its logo mascot. It is a feel-good place to eat with a cosy, friendly atmosphere, chill-out music and an introduction to Berlin dialect. Thanks to its attractive location, Deli Berlin does not just welcome air passengers: it is also open to hotel guests and other visitors who want to enjoy delicious food in a laid-back atmosphere.
“We are delighted to be taking the next step and opening Deli Berlin at BER now too. We developed the concept specifically for this airport, drawing on elements of Berlin’s history to suit the location,” said Stefan Weber, Managing Partner of casualfood GmbH.
Porridge, bowls, burgers and much more on the menu
The innovative all-day concept starts first thing in the morning by offering a delicious breakfast, then an attractive business lunch, before becoming a restaurant with a laid-back lounge atmosphere in the evening. The breakfast menu ranges from popular classics to scrambled or fried eggs with bacon, yogurt with fruit and even a selection of home-made vegan coconut milk porridge. From lunchtime onwards, guests can also choose from exciting dishes including pasta, burgers, kumpir, bowl food and salads. To quench their thirst, customers can order home-made lemonade, smoothies and freshly squeezed sugar cane juice or authentic Berlin beer, wine specialities or mixed alcoholic drinks. Food is also available to take away.
At first, there will be a soft opening of the terrace, with the restaurant offering a limited number of seats. The terrace will then be completely finished over the next few weeks, allowing customers to experience the very special atmosphere at Deli Berlin.
casualfood is the largest food-service operator at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Deli Berlin complements casualfood’s other Berlin-centred concepts at BER, such as east side berlin, Berlin Pub and the Deli Berlin mobiles. What is more, a number of casualfood’s established, successful concepts can also be found at the airport: GOODMAN & FILIPPO, Hermann’s, Beans & Barley, basta! and Kamps, which is run as a franchise. The majority of casualfood’s food-service concepts at BER are on the air side, i.e. after security.
