Thinking sustainably about our future!

If companies are sincere about the subject of sustainability, then it is important for them above all else to take responsibility, not only for people – employees and customers – but also for the products that are manufactured and sold as well as for the environment, which must be protected and preserved. After all, only comprehensive action can ultimately help to ensure that we as a company make a valuable contribution to the future of our planet.

Casualfood wishes to offer its employees a job where everyone feels comfortable.
With a good working atmosphere in which needs are met and skills are nurtured. We work flat out to make sure that this is the case …

1. A fair and attractive employer

1. A fair and attractive employer

Our understanding
We are a fair and attractive employer. This is particularly important against the background of an increasing shortage of skilled workers, a situation that has only got worse in our industry following the pandemic. We want to live up to our commitment and are doing everything we can to nurture competent employees and keep staff fluctuation to a minimum.

Our approach
We regularly conduct internal surveys to obtain feedback on the satisfaction of our employees and hold face-to-face meetings (casualtalk) with the entire workforce. We nurture young talent and train apprentices in three different careers. By arrangement and where possible, we cover the cost of training courses. Thanks to short-time working, we were able to retain a large part of our workforce even during the coronavirus pandemic, enabling us to cope well with the upturn in flights.

Our aim
We want to secure attractive jobs and create new, sustainable and interesting jobs.

2. Human rights, diversity and equal opportunities

2. Human rights, diversity and equal opportunities

Our understanding
Our compliance with human rights is not up for discussion. Diversity is an important matter in the catering and retail sector. We are proud of our cultural diversity and actively promote it because a multicultural team made up of different people fits in perfectly with our Casualfood philosophy and our area of work, travel catering.
This open-minded approach also expands our target group of employees. Committing to equal opportunities allows us to ensure that diversity among the workforce is viewed as an enrichment.

Our approach
We create a good working atmosphere in which the corporate culture is embraced and supported by everyone.
We are signatories to the Diversity Charter and also communicate this fact.

We will adopt even more diversity measures in 2022 and show that we are serious about the subject.

Our aim
Taking an open-minded approach to diversity is a key element of our philosophy. It is important to us that employees feel welcome, comfortable and appreciated at Casualfood, irrespective of their gender, age or ethnicity.

3. Occupational health and safety

3. Occupational health and safety

Our understanding
We take the subject of occupational safety and the health of our employees very seriously. Since the working environment at airports and train stations is often stressful and the temperatures in the outlets can only be regulated to a limited extent, we do everything we can to make the work as pleasant and safe as possible for our employees and safeguard and boost their health.

Our approach
Our safety officers in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin make sure that our places of work are safely designed. They are on hand to answer any questions the employees may have. In regular appointments with the external occupational safety service, occupational health and safety standards are continuously reviewed and updated. Our employees receive regular training on the subject of occupational health and safety, both in onboarding sessions and in regular power briefings.

Our aim
We want to create a safe, attractive and healthy working environment for our employees.
We will record the number of hours employees were absent from work in 2021 and try to reduce them in 2022.
